About Us
I didn’t set out to start a t-shirt brand… but I also kind of did.
I’m a Nebraska girl, married to my high school sweetheart, raising three little kids (two girls and a boy) in a season of life that’s equal parts chaos and really, really good. Before this, I was working as a nurse practitioner. Now I’m home with my kids — and somewhere in that shift, I realized I was missing something.
I grew up around creativity. Craft shows, handmade things, building something from nothing — it was always just part of life. And for a long time, I had this idea sitting in the back of my mind, but never actually did anything with it.
Until now.
Cottonwood Mercantile is named after some of my favorite childhood memories — long days spent playing under the cottonwood trees at my grandparents’ lake house. It felt simple, creative, and a little bit timeless… which is exactly what I wanted this brand to be.
This started because I couldn’t find what I was looking for. I wanted pieces that felt effortless during the day — comfortable enough to wear while chasing kids, running errands, living real life — but still looked elevated. Something I could throw on and instantly feel more put together without trying too hard.
So I designed them.
Every design is meant to feel like that go-to piece you reach for without thinking — the one that works for school drop-off, coffee runs, or a night out when you finally get one.
This isn’t about having a million options. It’s about having the right ones. The ones that let people know who you are!
And if you’re here, I have a feeling you get that.
Welcome to Cottonwood Mercantile — so glad you’re here!
